Pitt Panther DE/OLB Brandon Lindsey was kind enough to give take a few minutes off from training to answer some of our questions.
Here is what he had to say about his future in the NFL and what he thinks of the Jets organization.
You have spent time rushing with both your handup and on the ground, which do you prefer?
During my career I have been asked to do a little bit of everything. I have been asked to play DE and rush from the ground and also play a standup rush LB and also drop into coverage. I think my best asset is my versatility.
What do you feel are your biggest strengths youwill bring with you to the NFL? And what are you looking to work on before yourPro Day and Combine?
I think that my biggest strengths are getting off the ball and using my leverage to defeat a blocker. I look forward too improving in those areas but also getting better with my hands and being able to transition to a counter-move quicker. I also want to get better at dropping into coverage since I dont have alot of that on tape. And finally improving on my hand placement on run downs.
Do you feel the 3-4 or 4-3 scheme will betterfit your talents in the NFL?
During my career I have ran both schemes so I would feel comfortable transitioning into either scheme.
Where will you be doing your training at? Are you planning to fully participate in all the drills at this year’s combine in Indy?
I am training at the IMG Sports Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Yes, I plan on competing in everything at the combine.
What would it mean for you to join fellow Aliquippa alum and Pitt Panther Darrelle Revis at the NY Jets next year?
I think that would be really great! I see how hard he works on his craft and I want to soak up as much knowledge as possible. I know that he would have a huge impact on my career because not only would we be on the same team where I know his work ethic will rub off on me, but we are from the same hometown so I know he wouldn’t let me slack at all because it would be like letting not only the Jets Organization down, but also our University and hometown.
I have heard nothing but great things about the Jets Organization and I would love to be a part of it!
