With our first pick since the 3rd Round the New York Jets took DB Josh Bush from Wake Forest. Bush is a versatile DB who has spent time at both CB and SAF in his career at Wake Forest.

Bush is an athletic DB who was actually a converted QB coming out of HS. We see him as a free ranging FS coming to New York. Bush had a bit of a coming out party his senior year grabbing six iNT’s this year. He moves pretty well laterally and does a good job watching the QB’s eyes to see where the ball may go. His instincts and break aren’t quite ideal but he really showed a lot of growth this past season.

Not quite the sure tackler you would like along the back line but he’s not a liability. Still struggles some on play fakes, he will get sucked up on play action pass at times and leave his zone vacated. Bush must continue to work on his football IQ and discipline in order to see the field early in New York.

We foresee Bush showing up on ST’s early on in his career and maybe getting more playing time in a year or two if his development continues.

Stats: 2011-59 Tackles, 2 TFL, 6 INT, 5 PBU, 1 QBH

Career-134 Tackles, 6 TFL, 7 INT, 16 PBU, 2 QBH
