9. Brennan Williams UNC OT 6’7 315
The Take Home: Williams has the frame of a pro offensive tackle with good feet and a strong base. He’s been rising up draft boards recently with a solid start to the season and has the size and strength of an NFL right tackle while being a decent athlete with enough of a backpedal to be productive as a pass protector on the edge. He does a good job of getting low and staying balanced and has the power needed to generate push in the run game. Williams isn’t the athlete scouts look for an elite left tackle, but could play in a pinch; with his stock rising he now looks to be a top 50 pick and maybe the first right tackle off the board.
10. Johnathan Cooper UNC OG/OC 6’3 310
The Take Home: Cooper has an explosive lower body and moves effortlessly for his size and is good in space. He has power in his game, but given his mobility and size could really benefit from moving to the center position at the next level where he could be a potentially dominate player. Scouts project that he is most suited for zone based schemes given his fluid mobility and should be a solid NFL lineman in such schemes, especially if moved to the center position.
11. Larry Warford KENTUCKY OG 6’3 340
The Take Home: Warford could be a tremendous value pick in the upcoming draft. A massive offensive guard he has the bulk and strength to move the mass of humanity that exists on the line of scrimmage. He is much more athletic and mobile than his frame and reputation would suggest making him a potential pro starter with the ability to play a variety of schemes. Warford plays for a traditional basketball power in the SEC so lacks the press his game deserves.
12. Oday Aboushi UVA OT 6’6 310
The Take Home: Aboushi had an inconsistent 2011 season, at times looking like a dominant, athletic left tackle but also showing lapses in focus and technique. He’s played well so far this season and has top class athleticism and quickness. If he can get a little bigger to handle his duties in the running game he could be an early round pick as a franchise left tackle prospect.
13. Cyril Richardson BAYLOR OT/OG 6’5 335
The Take Home: Richardson is a bulky 335 pounds and should be more than strong enough to play inside in the pros, yet he also showed the quickness to protect the blind side of Heisman winning RG3 playing left tackle last year. As an interior lineman he will have plenty of foot speed and mobility to handle the quickness and athleticism of pro defensive tackles. If he can adjust to the increased physicality of playing inside, which he should, he could be a mainstay and enjoy a nice pro career.
14. Khaled Holmes USC OC 6’4 305
The Take Home: An injury sustained against Syracuse in week two has kept Holmes on the sidelines and inevitably hurt his stock. Despite being a smooth mover and overall impressive athlete he seemed to have trouble finding someone to block in space. With some added muscle to his frame he could become a great NFL center, but needs to focus on getting back onto the field and becoming fully healthy first.
15. Seantrel Henderson MIAMI OT/OG 6’8 345
The Take Home: A big time recruit with big time potential who, if matures and proves dedicated and focused, has the talent to be a starter at the next level. Surprisingly athletic and mobile with the muscle and immense bulk to dominate opponents and control the blend of size and speed he’ll see as a pro.
