In the wake of Darelle Revis’ ACL injury the New York Jets tried out four cornerbacks last week and have signed one today.
The Jets signed Aaron Berry, a former undrafted free agent who was slated to start with Detroit this season before two arrests in the offseason resulted in him being released.
Berry, 24, was first arrested under suspicion of DUI. Later, he would also be arrested for pointing a gun at three people in a parking lot a day before his release.
The deal is for two two years and could end up being a quality move when Revis returns as it not only adds depth but legitimate talent to the corner position.
After serving a three-game suspension, the NFL reinstated Berry last week. He visited with the Jets and the Miami Dolphins.
