With just six days until the 2013 NFL Draft, all scouting reports are done, rankings are compiled and mock drafts are for the most part solidified. To pass the time leading up to Thursday night, it can’t hurt to do a bit of a fun, different article.
Here is my “all-draft team,” with my top player(s) at each position in the draft. Some positions have two players listed, such as wide receiver and inside linebacker. Of course, offenses use at least two wide receivers on normal plays and 3-4 defenses use two inside linebackers.
Some of the positions, such as defensive tackle and defensive end, are subjective rankings with respect to the fact that it really depends on the defense. Trying to pick two defensive ends is tough because 3-4 and 4-3 ends are completely different. So, I made defensive tackle two different positions. There isn’t just one defense that I can choose, but these players are in my opinion the best.
My all-draft team:
Quarterback: Matt Barkley, USC
Running Back: Gio Bernard, North Carolina
Fullback: Lonnie Pryor, Florida State
Tight End: Tyler Eifert, Notre Dame
Center: Travis Frederick, Wisconsin
3-4 Defensive End: Sheldon Richardson, Missouri
4-3 Defensive End: Bjoern Werner, Florida State
Inside Linebackers: Arthur Brown, Kansas State and Manti Te’o, Notre Dame
Free Safety: Kenny Vaccaro, Texas
Strong Safety: Jonathan Cyprien, Florida International
Kicker: Caleb Sturgis, Florida
Punter: Brad Wing, LSU
Return Specialist: Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee
