With the draft in the books, the Jets’ roster is nearly set as we head into the minicamp and OTA portion of the season.

Unsurprisingly, this roster has undergone plenty of change under new general manager John Idzik, as he cuts the fat and begins the rebuilding process with younger pieces. The release of Tim Tebow clears up the messy quarterback situation and rids the team of a huge distraction, allowing more of a focus on winning games without unnecessary gimmicks.

Read on for my full roster 53-man roster projections.

  1. Mike O says:

My God, this proves how ugly the safety position really is. I would imagine they’d let a guy like Darrin Walls go, and keep UDFA Miles just to add another S (assuming he plays well).

  2. Mike says:

    This is only 51

  3. Matt says:

I count only 51. Are you missing two or leaving two spots open?

  4. Benny says:

Looks good, I expect the following guys to make it on the final roster. If not the roster then they’ll be practice squad.

Mike Shanahan, if he can show he can block the slightest he’ll make it. He’s like Cumberland with more an upside. He’ll be replacing Peterman on the roster. Peterman is just a camp body.

Zach Rodgers, He’s shifty, tough and has hand. He’s going to be our next Cotchery. Bye bye Pollard

Mike Edwards, he’ll be on the practice squad. If anyone can’t develop on the team he’ll take over at #5 or 6 CB and move up to nickle package next year.

Troy Davis, I think he’ll beat out Sapp for the final OLB position and contribute on ST.

Rontez Miles, He won’t replace anyone he’ll be number 53.

    What do you think Ryan?
